This is body of work began with a study of Marguerite Porter Davison’s A Handweaver’s Pattern Book.  It developed into a reflection on the ways material practices are abstracted and systemized for the sake of dissemination and the enculturation of those who adopt or are obliged to perform the practice.

It includes handwoven cloth, drawings, small objects, an audio work, and made-on-site sculpture.
